Florida’s state legislature has made history once again in a move that some support, some oppose, and literally nobody asked for. After receiving governor Desantis’s signature this morning, H.B. 14/88 has officially become law in the sunshine state, making Florida the first state in the nation to have a law formally protecting use of the n-word. “This law just goes to show how far our government will go in protecting free speech here in Florida,” said Tallahassee resident and sexually frustrated, terminally online, single man Terry, 34. “Freedom lives here, bitch! Or should I say; freedom lives here, n****r! Hahahahaha get owned, libtard.” The Desantis administration had previously been under fire for the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law that found vocal opponents not only among Florida’s progressive and LGBT minorities, but in liberals across the US at large. Commonly referred to as the “Do Say N****r” Law, H.B. 14/88 has been described by some as the latest development in what some perceive to be a discriminatory backslide in Florida over the past decade. Crowds of enthusiastic Tallahassee residents with nothing better to do with their time were heard cheering the governor on as he retired to the governor’s mansion this evening with chants of “N****r! N*****r! N*****r!,” a rallying cry largely unheard in Florida since the Obama administration.
