Director Steven Spielberg has confirmed that the character of Dr. John Hammond, CEO and creator of Jurassic Park, in Spielberg’s 1993 film, is indeed bisexual. Spielberg stated that at the time, having a bisexual character depicted in media would be too outlandish for American audiences. “It was just more believable to make a movie about resurrected dinosaurs hunting kids at an amusement park”, said producer Gerald R. Molen, who shot down Spielberg’s request to have Dr. Hammond introduce himself as “Bisexual doctor John Hammond.” Spielberg stated he had sat on this issue for many years, unable to commit to one side or another. Do I tell audiences the truth, or keep it a secret? In the end, it was decided that there would be no dialogue or sequences depicting Dr. Hammond as bisexual outright, but that Spielberg would be allowed to watch the film implicitly knowing the character’s taste for both dick and pussy. Spielberg suggested viewers rewatch the movies again, with this in mind. “It will change how you see the film entirely”, he claimed. Shortly after, in a series of tweets, one linking to a PDF file of the original Jurassic Park script, it was revealed that there was initially a 3 hour sex scene between the Doctor, both of the parents, and a trans velociraptor named Susan, played by Spielberg. This was cut and replaced by the movie Jurassic Park, but Spielberg has suggested that something like that totally happened in at least one shooting, throwing up the winky face emoji.
