Santos stares into the camera
With the Alex Murdaugh trial capturing the nation’s attention, attention has shifted away from politics, the environment, science, and those smelly little autistic disease vessels you call your kids. One voice seemingly couldn’t stand to see the attention pivot away from him, as George Santos inserted himself into the public trial this week while on the Breakfast Club radio show. “Look, Charla, the reality is…” he paused for dramatic effect, radio host Charlamagne Tha God leaning in intently, “The reality is I killed Alex Murdaugh’s family, it was me.” Angela Yee looked up from her Snapchat DMs, the 47 year old taken aback by this statement. Charlamagne quietly licked his lips, rubbing his hands together, “Now hold on, you gotta go back and explain that one now George. What do you mean you killed his family?” Santos leaned back in his swivel chair, and gesticulated with his hands, as if to remind the room and America that he was in fact, gay. “Look, I know it may come as a surprise, but I actually grew up and spent much of my formative years in the low country of South Carolina. Stephen Smith, the gay man who was killed, you remember him?” Charlamagne nodded. Santos continued. “He was my boyfriend. The reality is he was my boyfriend. After all these years, I was plotting to take something away from Alex Murdaugh like he took something away from me. And now I’ve done it, and framed Alex Murdaugh. Who’s a bad liar now, America?” Santos looked directly into the camera, breaking the 4th wall. “Damn, that is crazy,” Charlamagne half-wheezed, giving the colorful commentary the show has been known for since its inception. Unlike the Murdaugh family, it looks like radio isn’t dead after all.
